Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
